Weatherford Continues Its Focus on Safety Utilizing waySmart® Technology

Focusing on Safety, Efficiency and Productivity, Weatherford Deploys waySmart Across Entire Fleet

SALT LAKE CITY - October 27, 2014 - inthinc Technology Solutions Inc., a global telematics solutions provider offering solutions focused on driver safety, efficiency, and compliance, today announced that Weatherford (NASDAQ: WFT), one of the largest global oil and gas services providers, has selected inthinc’s waySmart® solution to support the company’s fleet safety, efficiency and compliance initiatives. Weatherford has been utilizing the waySmart system since 2009 and will deploy approximately 7,000 additional units across its US-based division to monitor vehicle’s fuel usage, track hours-of-service (HOS), view GPS-based trip details, and help ensure its drivers’ safety via in-cab verbal alerts for speeding, seat belt use, and other aggressive driving behaviors.

With waySmart, fleet managers have real-time insight into fleet activity, efficiency and performance through the inthinc.com management portal. Using integrated GPS tracking and telematics capabilities, fleet managers are able to see where each vehicle is located, where drivers stopped, the duration of their stop and how long it takes each driver to get from one location to another throughout the entire route. This allows managers to respond quickly to emergencies in a timely manner. The portal also shows any safety alerts during the route such as speeding, hard braking or other risky driving behavior.
