inthinc Opens New Corporate Headquarters to Accommodate Rapid Expansion
SALT LAKE CITY - July 22, 2008 - inthinc, a developer and manufacturer of technologies to improve automotive and driving safety and a contract manufacturer to many high technology firms, today announced it has a new company headquarters in the Salt Lake Valley to accommodate the company's explosive growth and also allow for continued expansion. The open house and ribbon cutting ceremony took place at 4225 West Lake Park Blvd., Suite 100, on Tuesday, July 22 with Utah Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr., in attendance. "inthinc is a great example of the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation we have in Utah," said Governor Jon Huntsman. "We strengthen our economic foundation as we foster an atmosphere of creativity throughout our great state."
The company has added more than 100 employees over the past six months bringing the total employee count to about 400. The headquarters move comes on the heels of the April opening of a 65,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Logan, Utah. "This has been an exciting year for inthinc with new facilities in both Logan and Salt Lake, expansion of our relationship with NASCAR, a new version of our commercial product and the entry into the consumer market with our tiwi product focused on teen driving safety," said Todd Follmer, CEO of inthinc. "All of this translates into growth for our company and numerous additional jobs for the local economy." The company's corporate functions operate out of the Salt Lake headquarters facility while the company's manufacturing functions operate out of Logan. The new Salt Lake space includes a more open working environment as well as creative amenities such as an arcade game room and an expansive kitchen area with a top-of-the-line indoor grill that encourages interaction among employees. inthinc's proven technology is in use with many of the world's most safety-conscious companies in industries such as oil and gas, transportation and auto racing. The same core technology has been used in the development of a groundbreaking product to mentor teen and other novice drivers to improve driving behavior and safety.
