Field Service Technician

Job Summary

 

Technician will be responsible for conducting installations, de-installations, troubleshooting, maintenance and field modifications to ensure reliable performance of navigation, audio, and vehicle tracking equipment, using company approved methods and workmanship standards. The candidate will: install and test electronic components of commercial telematics systems. Diagnose malfunctions with test equipment. Use schematics, manuals and knowledge of electronic circuitry to determine proper sequence of operation. Our company will provide selected candidates with comprehensive training and pay for travel expenses. Candidate attends classes and seminars (sometimes out-of-town) to stay current on product and technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

1.     Familiar with Mobile electronics, mobile GPS/Telematics Devices

2.     Experienced in performing 12-Volt installations such as navigation systems, car alarms or stereo preferred

3.     Avionics components installation, a plus

4.     Comply with documented procedures and instructions to meet quality standards

5.     Effective in Change Management and documentation

6.     Perform three-wire installation and layout of equipment locations

7.     Assemble custom electronics systems by organizing and connecting components, small parts, and peripherals

8.     Use computing skills to communicate, schedule and off-load programs to equipment

9.     Excellent problem-solving skills for on the spot resolution

10.  Basic Electrical Skills and/or knowledge of electrical theory

11.  High-Quality Focus, Good Work Ethic

12.  Equipment Maintenance, Research Skills,

13.  Knowledge in the Safe Operation of Hand and Power Tools, following safety procedures

14.  Schedule regular business review visits to client sites to establish stability in equipment use.

 

Job Qualifications:

           

Specific skills, knowledge or abilities

 

1.              Good Communication skills

2.              Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

3.              Other technical training and/or experience will be considered

4.              Knowledge of customer service etiquette and problem solving techniques are essential

5.              Electronic Testing and Connection Capabilities, Current Audio-Video Product Knowledge is a plus

6.              Observe and abide by On-Site Code Of Conduct

 

Education / Training

           

High school graduate with 1-2 years of experience or more

A college degree is preferred!

Work Environment / Travel

 

1.              Must possess a Valid Driver's License and be able to work outdoors in all types of

                  weather conditions

2.              Must possess or obtain Passport for international Travel

3.              Ability to travel 75% of the time

4.              Must have a personal credit card for incidental use

5.              Ability to pass random Drug Test

6.              Pass Physical and High-Altitude testing

7.              Current on inoculations/vaccinations. (Our company will pay the expense)
